Happy Birthday to me! The big 27! I can’t believe it. I know I have a bucket list of things I want to do on my blog already, you can find that here, but I wanted to be more specific and set some amazing things that I hope will happen in the next 3 years.

1.Get married.
Cheating on this one, but when I started this list I wasn’t even engaged yet! Now that we are planning our wedding this will be complete next year, October 2018!

2.Go to Europe.
Bobby and I have lived with each other for going on 3.5 years. We have the conversation about wanting to share more experiences with each other rather than gifts so many times. I would love to take a cruise to see as much of Europe as we can.

3.Take a photography class
I am in the process of trying to purchase a pretty fancy camera but I know once I do I will barely know how to use it!

4.Go on a cruise.
not sure when now that we’re busy planning a wedding but it’s on our list.

5.Plant a garden.
I love to can sauce and salsa and I would love to be able to do it by growing our own veggies!

6.Learn to Ski.
We live in New England and neither me or Bobby know how to ski. I’d like to head up north one winter weekend and take some lessons.

7.Study and sign up to take the MTEL.
I have the study tools sitting in the house, now to find the time to study so I can actually take the test.

8.Make photo books for our vacations and each year.
I always half start making photo books. It’s a goal to have one for every year going forward and for our vacations.

9.Read 200 books – 50 for each year I have left till 30.
I’m not sure this gonna happen, but I am going to try my hardest.

10.See a Broadway or Broadway type play.
I would love to do this with Bobby. I am going to see Mamma Mia with the ladies in my family in June. But I really would love to see Aladdin or Hamilton.

11.Sell our home and buy/build our forever home.
As of this year we have been in our house 3 years. We have made some great improvements, but I have known since we bought it that it was not our forever home. Before we have kids I would love to be able to sell and find our forever home

12.Go to a Boston Bruins Game.

This is the only New England team that I haven’t had a chance to see.

13.Host Christmas

Bobby and I still haven’t been able to host a major holiday at our place. I would love to be able to do that soon. I really want that holiday to be Christmas.

14.Road trip in the United States.
I would love to either drive up the California coast or do a road trip through Texas with my babe.

15.Adopt another fur baby
Lola is by far the friendliest pup ever. She wants to play with everyone and anyone no matter if they like her or not (this goes for dogs & people) and I would love to give her a forever friend sometime soon!

16.Be healthier.
This is a goal every year. By the time this is done I just hope to be living a healthier lifestyle and to be working on a consistent basis.

17.Become a morning person.

I would love to be able to get up at 5am every day. Give myself time to enjoy myself before having to make breakfast and take care of the dog and leave for work.

18.Pay off 80% of student loan debt.

This hopefully can get accomplished as I have a student loan pay off plan that has us paying my loans off by 2022.

19.Build our savings.

We have slowly started to do this. But as soon as we have a bulk saved we have a project that we want completed.

20.Learn Calligraphy.
I would love to pick this up as a hobby.

21.Learn to style my hair and do my makeup.
I need to put A LOT more effort into putting myself together everyday.

22.Take professional photos at least once a year

I LOVE photos. They allow you to keep some wonderful memories and I love getting ours done its great to see how much we have changed each year.

23.Try a new restaurant once a month
I love trying new places in our area. It’s also great that we live close to RI & CT so driving to try new restaurants isn’t hard!

24.Learn to like red wine.
I am a white wine drinker, but when I went to Italy I tolerated red wine. I would love to love both. Also I would like to get bobby to have a tolerance for wine in general.

25.Visit Chicago during the holidays
I have heard Chicago in the winter is beautiful. Cold but beautiful. I would love to visit near Christmas and see their version of the Christkindlmarket market.

 26.Start a family
I want to have a large family with Bobby. Coming from a home with just me, I would love to start our family as soon as we get married.

27.Learn to like wear high heels.
I live in flats and sneakers. I would love to dress more business casual and feminine.

28.Attend the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
I am kind of cheating on this one because we are heading there this year!

29.Bake more.
One of my favorite hobbies is baking. I need to start doing this more.

30.Blog more.
I want to make it a goal to blog more. This isn’t a very quantifiable goal but in general when I bake a great recipe, do something fun with family, or anything I want to capture it on this little blog.

Currently: April 2017

Hi Friends! Life has been crazy as of lately so I thought I would share whats been going on in my neck of the woods on this good ol’ blog.

Wearing: Spring weather is finally here to stay in New England! The sandals have been broken out for good and now I need to head to old navy for some flip flops.

Watching:  Married at First Sight. I don’t know about you but I LOVE reality TV and this show is so much fun to watch. My favorite couple from the get go and first impressions – Ashley & Anthony.

Listening to:  I made a playlist for the car ride to NYC for this weekend. I’ve been jammin to that this week getting ready for the Bachelorette weekend!

Reading:  The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. I have been so busy I haven’t made a large dent in it yet.

Eating:  Cheese Burgers. At least once a week. We have been grilling like crazy this month!

Enjoying:  Touring venues with my love. We are having so much fun doing wedding stuff together, which I knew we would. I love that Bobby wants to be involved. We are visiting two Friday and hoping to book our venue as soon as we find a place we love!

Making: For Easter the bunny came (aka me) for my two babes and I had so much fun putting together their Easter baskets. I still have to put some time aside to make a spring wreath – my door is looking extra naked right now!

Loving:  being engaged to the love of my life ❤

Wishing: that I had my summer bod already. I can see some small changes but nothing major.

Looking forward to:  Bachelorette Weekend with some girls this weekend. Then I head to Nashville for work next week for a few days! I am going to miss Bobby – but I am looking forward to both happenings!

Missing: Having some time to myself to read, craft or bake. We have been so busy and I don’t see it ending any time soon to be able to do what I enjoy.

How He Asked

Hi friends! This is will be my first Wedding Wednesday Post! I knew someday when I got engaged I would absolutely want to document the process on my blog. It will be so nice to one day look back on here and relive every wonderful moment!

I knew I wanted to be with Bobby forever probably 1 month into dating him. He was everything I had ever wanted in a person to share life with. He is such a gentleman, family is important to him, he is a homebody, he’s handsome, and I could go on forever. I think it took Bobby a little longer to realize it, but when the day came when he got down on one knee I was the HAPPIEST girl in the world.

How He Asked:

It started out like any other holiday, we had breakfast, I let Bobby & Lola open their Easter baskets, we got ready, headed to pick up Bobby’s grandma and headed over to his parents. We split up all holidays spending half of the day with his family and half with mine – and normally my parents try to make an appearance at Bobby’s family but this year my parent were also hosting Easter dinner so when we originally made plans they were not coming to Bobby’s side of the family.

That’s why when Bobby told me that he had talked to his mom and she advised that my parents were going to stop over for appetizers I thought it was weird. I mean it’s not that abnormal for them to talk , but usually they do the coordinating of holidays through Bobby & I, but then Bobby brought up a valid point that we have been dating for almost five years so it’s not that weird that our parents talk – so I brushed it off and went upon my day. Now the holidays for us are nothing special – and what I mean is that I usually do not dress up – but the night before Bobby’s sister Sarah was asking me if I was going to wear a sundress because it was going to be so damn hot out, so I did. Which I am SO glad about now.

Once we got to Bobby’s parents we just hung out for a bit – and we hid some Easter eggs for our nephew Austin. I then went inside to talk with a few family members about a wedding we have coming up in July. While I was inside little did I know something was being hidden that I was supposed to find. We started the Easter egg hunt watching Austin when Bobby said that Austin wanted my help. I totally didn’t understand why he needed my help since he was doing great by himself – and then Bobby kept trying to get me to look at this huge Easter egg that was under the slide, but I was more focused on getting ones in a different spot. totally oblivious at this point I think I was giving Bobby a heart attack because he was trying to get me to come to him and I was just not having any of it! (sorry babe!)IMG_7702

When he finally reached me I turned around to him opening the Easter egg and getting down on one knee! Right then and there I began to ugly cry so bad, that I don’t think I said yes until bobby asked if I had said yes – which of course I said YES.

Easter & A Proposal!

I hope yall had a blessed Easter Sunday spent with your loved ones. This Easter will forever go down as my favorite. Like all holidays Bobby & I have to split up our time between our two families.

We started our day off with some Dunkin and I had quite a few things left to bake for later in the day so we didn’t have time to make breakfast.

We headed over to his parents house to have dinner, its was so beautiful here in Massachusetts that we all sat outside for the whole day! It was hot enough that we decided next weekend the ac needs to be unwrapped. What is so great is my parents had come over to Bobby’s parents for appetizers before they had the rest of my family over at their place for dinner.

We had such an array of apps – I ate so much that I hardly had any dinner!

After apps we had a little Easter egg hunt for our nephew Austin. He is the only one young enough to actually have fun doing it so Bobby helped him out. Then this happened….

18010458_10211473159719620_3330695081153083634_n

We then had dinner and headed over to my parents for dessert! All of the desserts I made were such a hit plus my family even had a cake for us made up 🙂

I’ll be back Wednesday to share the proposal for my first Wedding Wednesday! OMG you guys don’t know how long I have wanted to be able to do a post like that!

I am so beyond blessed with such an amazing man and our families who made our day so special. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to share my life with and I cannot wait to be his wife. But for now we are pretty happy with now calling each other fiance!

Have an awesome week friends!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday Ya’ll! Just popping in to show you some of my favorites from this week. This weekend is a not only going to be a beautiful one its going to be a fun one!

Tonight we are heading out to dinner with our parents (yay for triple date night!) to one of our favorite local spots. Saturday I am FINALLY getting my hair did and we are hopefully putting together the raised bed for our garden. And to end off the weekend Sunday I am heading to a Bridal show with some of my lady friends and then we are taking my cousin to the Lil Wayne concert.

Now onto my favorites this week 🙂

  1. Picking out what desserts I want to make for Easter! I love to bake so I am always the one to bring dessert. Because we go to both Bobby’s parents house and mine – I get to make a few goodies! I am going to make Blueberry Cheesecake PieCarrot Patch Brownies, and Robin Egg Blondies.
  2. In Case You Didn’t Know by Brett Young – Not gonna lie, I am one of those girls that not only loves country music but loves country love songs and currently the one on repeat is this one. it gives me all the feels, but its so easy to love love songs when you have such an amazing person that you think of when they come on.
  3. Another week another outfit bought. This outfit is for a bachelorette weekend I have coming up at the end of the month in NYC. I ordered this Little Black Dress hoping that it looks half as good on me as it does on the model haha.
  4. I have been waiting all winter to be able to start our first garden! We are going to do one raised bed with only a few veggies, i’m thinking tomatoes, green peppers, summer squash and zucchini. I am trying to pick the marker I want to do and have narrowed it to these – one & two. BOTH ARE SO CUTE.

What fun things do you have planned for the weekend?! I hope you enjoy every minute!

One True Loves – Book Review

one-true-loves-9781476776903_hr.jpgTitle: One True Loves
Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid
Genre: Romance
Publication Date: 2016
Rating: ★★★★★

Description

From the author of Maybe in Another Life—named a People Magazine pick and a “Best Book of the Summer” by Glamour and USA Today—comes a breathtaking new love story about a woman unexpectedly forced to choose between the husband she has long thought dead and the fiancé who has finally brought her back to life.

In her twenties, Emma Blair marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse. They build a life for themselves, far away from the expectations of their parents and the people of their hometown in Massachusetts. They travel the world together, living life to the fullest and seizing every opportunity for adventure.

On their first wedding anniversary, Jesse is on a helicopter over the Pacific when it goes missing. Just like that, Jesse is gone forever.

Emma quits her job and moves home in an effort to put her life back together. Years later, now in her thirties, Emma runs into an old friend, Sam, and finds herself falling in love again. When Emma and Sam get engaged, it feels like Emma’s second chance at happiness.

That is, until Jesse is found. He’s alive, and he’s been trying all these years to come home to her. With a husband and a fiancé, Emma has to now figure out who she is and what she wants, while trying to protect the ones she loves.

Who is her one true love? What does it mean to love truly?

Emma knows she has to listen to her heart. She’s just not sure what it’s saying.

Review

I am a sucker for a good romance novel, but never have I ever had a book hit me like this one did. I cried throughout the entire thing almost. This was my first time reading a book by Taylor Jenkins Reid and it most certainly will not be my last! The way it was written from the beginning draws you into Emma’s world like it is your own and has you feeling just as torn as she does. Emma falls in love with two men, at different times in her life, thinking that there would be no chance of them ever having to be in her life at the same time. That is until the unexpected happens and her dead husband – is found alive.

This is one of those stories that will pull you in both directions as you read and truly have you thinking about how you want the story to end (and you probably wont be extremely happy either way) and what you would do if you were ever in a situation like Emma. At one point while reading this – I looked over at Bobby and we legit had a conversation about what we would do in her shoes, and I couldn’t even think about that type of scenario. It’s such a bittersweet and heart-wrenching love story that really makes you think if someone can have more than one true love.

Favorite Quotes

“I had predicated my life on the idea that I wanted to see everywhere extraordinary, but I’d come to realize that extraordinary is everywhere.”

“Good things don’t wait until you’re ready. Sometimes they come right before, when you’re almost there. And I figured when that happens, you can let them pass by like a bus not meant for you. Or you can get ready. So I got ready.”

“When you love someone, it seeps out of everything you do, it bleeds into everything you say, it becomes so ever-present, that eventually it becomes ordinary to hear, no matter how extraordinary it is to feel.”

“I have changed over time. That’s what people do.
People aren’t stagnant. We evolve in reaction to our pleasures and our pains.”

March seemed to go by quite fast – we seemed to have been blessed with great weather in February thinking Spring was just around the corner and then got hit with so much cold rainy weather! I am so ready for April and the Spring weather to be here.
