After a crazy busy weekend I am just getting time to sit down to write my post. I don’t know who made up a 5 day work week, but if we could forever have Mondays off I would be a much more productive person. Do any of you feel like you always have so much left to do once the weekend is over? I do ALL.THE.TIME.
This weekend I went with my gal pals to see Swan Lake at the Boston Ballet. It was extremely beautiful watching the way these individuals dance. Not going to lie though we went out to a nice Italian dinner before hand and I was dosing off by the end of the performance. A full belly, and calming music at 930 equal a very tired Rebecca.
We made so much progress on our fire pit and I can’t wait to show you guys. Bobby has worked so hard on it to make sure it is ready for our BBQ this weekend for memorial day/my birthday. We also found out that we have a family of owls that live in one of our pine trees, and this weekend they were out all day trying to teach their baby how to fly…well we wok up this morning to a baby owl on our front steps. SO GOSH DARN CUTE!
After such a busy weekend I was ready to relax on Sunday night and one thing that always helps me relax is baking up a quick batch of cookies, especially now since I have my kitchen aid. Sunday night I decided to make Reese’s Pieces Cookies. #nomnomnom
Reese’s are my favorite snack ever, well they are tied for first place with kit kats. The cookies I made are on the back of the Reese’s Pieces Mini Candy that you find in the baking aisle, but I made a few changes of my own.
What You Need:
2/3 cup shortening
½ cup packed light brown suger
1/3 cup baking truvia
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp milk
1 cup rolled oats
1 bag of reese’s pieces mini candies
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Beat shortening, brown sugar, truvia in mixer until light & fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add alternatively with milk to sugar mixture.
- Stir in Oats & Candy
- Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool on cookie sheet or wire rack. (or you can eat them right out of the oven like I do 🙂 )
Have A Wonderful Week!
My birthday is approaching way to quick this year, and we are down to less than two weeks 🙂 I am totally that person that counts down all month until the day of my birthday, I mean what other day of the year do you get to make all about you?! This year my birthday is on Memorial Day and we will be celebrating with our family & friends on our Annual Memorial Day Cookout. My mother always “surprises” me with a cake from my favorite bakery Wrights Dairy Farm. As you guys know I love to make lists, so I’d thought I would share my wishlist here on the blog.
Summer Pineapple Print Tulip Shorts
Eating in the Middle: A Mostly Wholesome Cookbook
Harper Small Saddle Crossbody
The Artist’s Studio Hydrating Lip Tint – Sheer Dawn
Light Blue for Women
Tartelette in Bloom Clay Palette
What I usually end up doing is dropping subtle hints to Bobby on what I want or I will end up buying the things I want the most with birthday money. How about you guys, I’d love to know whats on your birthday list!
Until Next Time,
Happy Monday Friends! Last week I was MIA because I was away for work in Nashville. Ugh I can’t wait until Bobby and I go there for a vacation, there are so many fun things to do away from Broadway, but we only got that far because we were in conferences all day. Below are the some of the pic’s I captured, don’t be surprised that there are a few with food (because really southern food is second best compared to new england).
Until Next Time,
This weekend was so great. It was a busy weekend as is every weekend once the nice weather starts here in Mass.
Saturday I worked on my glow in the dark flower pots to go in our back yard. Our house has been a work in progress since we got it and I really love seeing the transformation we are making with all of our ongoing projects. Next weekends project is to do our fire pit, I have pinned quite a few ideas and I’m ready to make our own.
I also went to Bobby’s Grandma’s quilt show. She I so talented, I wish I could make half of the things she does. My first year dating Bobby all I wanted for Christmas is a quilt made by her (and I got one!), now I use it every night while I lay on the couch. See the hanging quilt blow with all of the herbs? It won first place!
We also went to see Kevin James @ Foxwoods Saturday Night. If you don’t know who he is you live under a rock, I have loved him since King of Queens started when I would sit with my mom and dad and watch it religiously. AND Bobby asked me out while we were in his basement watching I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry so Kevin James will always hold a special place in my heart.
My parents came over to watch Lola, and I’m pretty sure they were more excited to watch her than Bobby and I were to go out. It’s funny to think about having to get a “babysitter” for Lola but since she is so little she cant be left alone for too long. These are the pic’s we got from my momma –
Sunday was errand day. We went to do our groceries, Lowes to buy some more flowers and potting soil and etc.
This month is gonna be a crazy one with my birthday, our memorial day cookout, endless amounts of projects to be done, swan lake with my girl friends and traveling for work but I’m looking forward to it 🙂
Until Next Time,
