Holiday Traditions

During the holidays many people get asked what are some of your family’s holiday traditions..and it really wasn’t something that I thought about until I sat down and thought about it. My family doesn’t have any crazy Holiday Traditions. As I have become part of Bobby’s family, I have been able to see that all families do have different ways to spend the Holidays with their loved ones. A few of both of our families traditions are:

  1. Christmas Eve Dinner @ Bobby’s Sisters – Every Christmas eve Bobby’s sister Sarah hosts dinner at her house. We do a Secret Santa and it’s so much fun to do! I have never done a Secret Santa with my family because we we are so small, but getting to do this with my soon to be family is a fun way to get to know each other.
  2. My FAVORITE Christmas tradition – This has been a favorite of mine12348037_1496597513975284_342449076739974673_n since I was a little girl, it’s stringing popcorn and cranberries to place on the tree. It has been a tradition to do in my family for a long time, and I knew when I moved out and into my own place that I wanted to keep that tradition going. It is one of my favorite pastimes to sit in the living room and string along, while having a snack and watching Christmas movies with my parents and I hope one day my children enjoy this tradition as much as I do.
  3. Visiting La Salette Festival of Lights – Every year a they put up thousands of lights in our town at a seminary called La Salette Shrine. They have been doing this since way before I was born, but my family has gone every year (almost) since I was little. If you are in the Attleboro MA area during the holidays you definitely need to check this place out!

So we may not have a lot of traditions but the ones we do have are close to my heart. The holidays would not be the same if we didn’t do these things and they are the events that I look forward to all year.

Do you guys have any fun Holiday traditions? If you do I would love to hear about them, and maybe i’ll even steal them for the future 🙂

Until Next Time,

Happy December!

Yesterday was officially the start of my favorite month! I am super excited for the holidays and to begin the new year. There are so many fun things going on this month that I can wait to blog about.  This blog is after all, is a way for me to remember all the wonderful memories that happen in my life!

I made a mini bucket list of things I want to do this month!

  1. Host an ornament party – I sent out the invite for this yesterday! I was on the fence about hosting one, but my soon to be someday SIL convinced me that I should do it.  So look for that blog post about how amazing (hopefully) it turns out! I can’t wait to spend the Saturday night with some of my favorite ladies!
  2. Go get our Christmas tree – yes I called it a CHRISTMAS tree….because that’s what it actually is!  Bobby isn’t the biggest fan of real trees, but they are something that I grew up on so with a lot of convincing he finally caved. Its raining here today so we are hoping to go and pick it out tomorrow!
  3. Visit the Enchanted Village @ Jordan’s Furniture. My grandmother took me to this when I was little, and I haven’t been back since. Bobby has NEVER been, so what the perfect thing to do on a date night 🙂
  4.  Spend quality time with family & friends. There is nothing better than spending the holidays with the ones you love, so I plan to see our family and friends as much as possible 🙂

This may seem like not so many things for the whole 31 days of December, but with many of our days already booked with parties and last minute shopping I think my December is looking to be a great one!

Until Next Time,
